My blogging compadre Ali at Henbogle has tagged me with a meme. To participate in this particular meme, one has to share seven pieces of information about oneself.
Here are my seven:
1. I was on the back of a horse before I was in a house. I grew up on a horse farm, and my parents wanted to start me out right, so when they brought me home from the hospital, they went to the stable first.
2. I sometimes have trouble pulling up carrots because I think I hear them screaming. This is a real problem, since I am a vegetarian.
3. My grandmother taught me to cook. Apparently she was not a very good cook, but I didn't know that until I made some of her recipes for D of L, who gently suggested that pecan pie isn't actually supposed to ooze off the plate.
4. I have G.P. and our dogs convinced that I am the pack leader. No one else in the family recognizes my leadership position, however.
5. I was on track to have my Ph.D. in Literature before I was 25. Then I realized it was 1985 and there were no jobs teaching literature. I left the Ph.D. program and became a professional horseman instead. Five years later I went to law school. Now I'm a partner in a big law firm, and often wish I was a full-time gardener.
6. I drink way too much tea.
7. I still haven't written my first novel.
Thanks, Ali!
Poor little carrots. ;-)

You're welcome! The literature degree explains the great writing on your blog, and I LOVE the story of how Wonderland Farm came to be.... Thanks for participating.

You're a better cook than your foremothers. Thank goodness.

About the carrots... you are not alone. I think I hear the screaming too!
